Transitioning with Coats and Imagination

Transitioning with Coats & Imagination this Autumn

September does a few things, especially if you live in the UK or Ireland. It brings with it the opportunity of a fresh start and the opportunity of shrouding ourselves in some key 'transitional' wardrobe pieces.

This September, for me, both my daughters have started in the same school and i get a chance to try my hand at being a mother of three with a full-time business. New start? Yes, i think so, but one other thing i've devoted myself to is my mindset. Gone are the chaos of the swirly, non-rhythmic summer months. They were (mostly) sweet, but this term brings forward a little dedication to nourish the heart and soul and 'imagine' a life of fullness and expansion in whatever form is right for me. Next Sunday I'm going on a full day of retreat with Freedom Retreats. Kinda using the day to set me up on the trajectory i wanna be heading and hoping that the effort i take to mark it (inspite of the challenges of being a breastfeeding mum) will really be an investment.

Anyhow, back to the 'transitional' idea and the wardrobe. Let's talk 'outerwear.' Gosh, i love coats. i love the blazers, the long tailored jackets; it all. I think i'm so in love because i'm quite a paired-back, comfy type of dresser, so the jacket gives ya a chance to look a little more tailored over an uncomplicated, casual outfit. I especially like getting to play with these 'transitional' types before the puffa types kick in for the colder weather.  Last week on Instagram 'stories' you lot helped me choose between two different blazers. I went with the Zara one (on the left below,) but many of you have informed me that since i posted, you went to pick up the New Look version (on the right) for yourselves and i can understand why at that price point.

Zara Blazer vs New Look blazer

I purchased this Houndstooth Blazer from the Zara App as it wasn't available in my local Belfast Store. I went for oversized at X-XL.
