One of the joys of being in this business for nearly a decade now is spotting opportunities that spark my interest and actually having a bit more freedom to pursue them. This is my second design collaboration with Kindred of Ireland speaks to the part of us that makes time for play, is seeking elevation and a relaxed functionality in what we wear. The Cassie Capsule is a three piece ensemble made of a heavy weight navy irish linen. Cassie, (the affectionate nickname of my great-grandmother Catherine which was the name of our first collab in 2023) along with her husband and sons grew flax used for linen making from their homestead in Omagh, N.I. The theme of 'belonging and kinship' runs deep in Kindred's values and Amy has kindly embraced my family namesake for our recent partnership.
If you know Amy or myself, you'll know we are busy mums juggling our businesses and all the other commitments of this stage of life. I like to think the Cassie set offers a creative solution for the juggling-all-things-type of ladies here - "make it versatile and mix n' match with what you've already got."
Wear the bows to the front or back of the reversible Cassie Top
If you're interested in backstory of the Cassie top, this is the exact same cropped shape Amy made for me last summer to wear to my cousins wedding in Greece- such a simple, wearable shape that became our Catherine Top of 2023 (below), except with Cassie 2024, there's added puff shoulders and an elasticated wrist detail so you can push sleeves up and they'll stay. We've also pronounced the bows a bit more cos it's 2024 and we're in an undeniable bow era:)
The Cassie Slacks have a relaxed silhouette with long dropped crotch, wide leg, cinched waist and simple button closure. These trousers have so much mileage in them- can't wait to wear with all my big knitwear and also smaller vest tops alike- i just know they'll move with the climate here in NI.
Finally, the Cassie skirt blends a classic straight line shape with the ease of pockets on the side seam and a long slit at the back. So looking forward to adding this navy skirt into my wardrobe.
